Laboratory of Molecular Biology

The Molecular Biology Laboratory is located within the Microbiology Laboratory. Due to its assets, a new activity for schools began with the aim to reconcile two needs that have become mandatory for teaching and learning the new Biology: to illustrate to students the new biochemical techniques for extracting and sequencing DNA made tangible by creating models to represent the structure of the macromolecules.The models make morphological aspects and biochemical characteristics visible, which is necessary for understanding the cellulare functioning. Experimental Science Laboratory is equipped with a high level equipment, which only sophisticated laboratories of high biological research are equipped with, allowing rigorous biochemical analysis. Such equipment is associated with the construction of molecular models, which is made tangible through operations that biochemistry alone can not show. In this way it tackles the complexity of the molecular structures through biochemical analysis. Structure and modes of operation are understood through the essentiality of models, consequently widening the horizons of education.
